Match the task to the tool

What you seeWhat to useCompletion check
Loose rubbish or a discarded objectPick it up and carry it to the dumpsterThe trash count advances
Dirty floor patchesVacuum the highlighted surfaceThe patch clears and cleaning progress changes
Dirty walls or windowsAim the sponge at the surfaceThe patch clears; continue across the whole surface

The co-op recording also shows the sponge being used on the floor. Treat the table as a simple working route, not a claim that only one tool can ever affect each surface. A vacuum does not clear loose rubbish for you.

A repeatable room-clearing route

  1. Find the dumpster before making repeated rubbish trips.

  2. Clear the entrance and one room at a time. Finish carrying each loose item to the dumpster.

  3. Vacuum the floor, then sweep the walls and windows with the sponge.

  4. Check edges, narrow strips beside doors and surfaces hidden by the open door.

  5. Move upstairs or outside when the current room is complete. Recheck the objective counter before furnishing.

This route is our organizational advice, based on the tasks visible in the recordings. It is not a hidden cleaning bonus or a measured speedrun route.

A creator encountered a wall that appeared unresponsive, but the recording later reached cleaning complete. That does not establish a universal fix or prove that every stuck counter is a bug. If a surface still refuses to respond after these checks, record the house and target and use the game’s support route. Leaving can interrupt the job, so do not treat rejoining as a guaranteed way to preserve progress.

When a better tool helps

If the right target responds but each surface takes a long time, inspect your equipped tool in the lobby. Compare the displayed cleaning power and brush size rather than buying an item just because it is more expensive.

The fast cleaning in BemmyBlock’s later job uses paid Founders equipment. It is a demonstration of that loadout, not a free-player completion-time benchmark.
